Work with Storyroom

Build a room
with us.

A studio originating reactive films, directing audience-aware experiences, and engineering the runtime that moves them. A small number of projects each year.

01What the studio makes

Six shapes of work.

Most projects sit between two shapes. We help find the fit.

  1. i.

    Reactive short films

Original studio releases and commissioned shorts that respond to viewer presence.

  2. ii.

    Interactive campaign experiences

Brand stories that read attention and presence — for the web, a venue, or a single device.

  3. iii.

    Festival and gallery installations

Single-viewer rooms and audience-aware spaces for cultural institutions.

  4. iv.

    Audience-aware brand stories

Long-form work where the viewer changes the read.

  5. v.

    Experimental narrative prototypes

R and D on new forms of audience-aware storytelling. Often the start of a longer arc.

  6. vi.

    Custom studio collaborations

End to end engagements alongside an in-house team.

02How we work

Four stages.
Eight to twenty weeks.

  1. 01

    Conversation

A 30 minute call. We learn the brief. You learn what the form can and cannot do.

  2. 02

    Treatment

A short written treatment with one or two creative directions, a feasibility read, and a budget range.

  3. 03

    Production

Authoring the scene graph, capturing the footage, building the runtime, and staging the experience.

  4. 04

    Release

On the web, in a venue, or both. We support the work in market and instrument what the audience reveals.

03Who we talk to

We answer every
serious inquiry.

04Engagements

Three sizes of room.

2 to 4 weeks

Prototype

A creative direction, an authored short, a working web prototype. For brands and partners exploring the form.

8 to 14 weeks

Commission

An original reactive film authored, captured, and staged for release. For festivals, brands, and editorial homes.

Multi-project

Studio partnership

An ongoing relationship across films, formats, and venues. A small handful at any time.
